Hillary is Asking

Junior New York Senator Hillary Clinton read the headlines in a local New York daily that read "Bush Knew". Her first instinct was not to read the article or contact the daily's editors to find out what information they had, or even to contact the White House press secretary to find out what Bush knew, but instead to stand up in the hallowed halls of the US Senate and question what Bush knew and why hadn't he told her New York constituents what he knew.

Of course, at this point there still was no clear definition what the headline was referring to or whether Bush's knowing about something was a good thing or not. So much for grandstanding for the folks back home.

This is the same senator who, when first elected, indicated her first act in the Senate would be the repeal of the Electoral College. Here we are 15+ months later and she's no closer to removing the Electoral College from the presidential process than she is reading the text of that New York daily.

Yes, it is the Congress' job to question the administrations goings on, but it would be appreciated if Hillary did it in a more meaningful way - and to leave the grandstanding to others.
