Is Saddam Cooperating with the UN Inspectors

The main question on most peoples mind who are watching the Iraq inspections is "Is Saddam Cooperating with the UN Inspectors". Let's look at the record over the last two months.

The documentation provided to the United Nations and its inspectors did not include any documentation on the tens of thousands of tons of chemical and biological weapons the inspectors were aware of before they were expelled back in 1998.

Iraqi scientist are refusing to be interviewed unless there is a representative of the Iraqi government to witness the inquiry. The only logical reason for wanting to be interviewed with Iraqi representatives present would be to assure Saddam that they had not said anything with regards to existing or ongoing Weapons of Mass Destruction development.

The only conclusion any rational individual could come to is that Saddam and his regime is not cooperating, but merely pretending to be cooperating to drag out the inspection process and hope the world tires of the whole exercise.

And while on the subject, why is Russia, Germany and France so opposed to any enforcement of the disarmament process? Well Russia just signed a $4 billion deal with Saddam's government. Germany's industry has done quite well selling Saddam virtually anything he needs to continue his WMD development over the years. As for France, well they're just the French and they are always going to be contrarians!
