The Pakistani Mullahs

The Pakistani clerics have called for an overthrow of President Musharraf. Their rationale is that he "is a risk for Pakistan" and therefore the military should overthrow him.

The risk to Pakistan, and other nations in the region, are the clerics whose perverse interpretation of the Koran has resulted in the conflicts we now see in the region. The Koran contain no reference to a Jihad being a holy war. A Jihad is defending of oneself from temptation to not follow the preaching of the Koran. To equate the Taliban to Islam is similar to equating David Koresh to mainstream Chritianity. Neither are true.

The Pakistani clerics are playing with fire and their lack of care in reading and interpreting the Koran indicates to me they will sooner or later get burnt.
