The Palestinian Situation
The Palestinian situation has not gotten much press in the United States. Most Palestinians live in refugee camps and have lived there since the formation of the state of Israel. As refugee camps go, it's not much of a place to live. It's from these camps that Palestinian terrorists recruite new members. Living with little hope in a refugee camp doesn't cause one to aspire to anything except hitting back at who they feel is responsible for their hopeless situation.
What's needed is for the world to understand this and create a situation where the homeless can see something coming of their situation besides the status quo. Better living conditions financed through the World Bank giving refugee camp dwellers a place to live, water to drink and an opportunity to get on with a meaningful life is what's needed.
Israeli citizens who, 50 years ago, took over Palestinian homes should be required to contribute to the rebuilding of the lives they emotionally destroyed - after all if they claim their God gave them the land, I doubt he also gave them someone else's home to live in for free.
Until this wrong can be righted and Palestinians can gain some self-respect, all Israel and the world can expect is many more frustrated Palestinians hitting back as their only means of releasing their frustration.
